Job summary

Hampton VC LLC in New York City is seeking an Editor, Newsletter + Community to own two weekly newsletters and engage with a private network of founders. You’ll write, edit, and guide conversations in Slack, delivering entertaining, insightful content for a high-end audience.

The role is full-time and hybrid, based near Penn Station, with a compensation range of $80K–$110K plus performance bonus. Join a small, high-caliber team shaping founder discourse.

Qualifications

• A very good writer with about 3 years of experience, or a strong work sample.
• Entertaining and informative writing style; able to make dry topics engaging.
• Comfortable with high-powered founders and discreet handling of sensitive information.
• Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
• Fluent with AI tools; AI should not replace human-written content.

Responsibilities

• Write and send both newsletters every week.
• Engage Slack conversations with weekly prompts, polls, and follow-ups.
• Make niche founder topics fun to read with actionable advice on audits and AI.
• Protect member trust; secure sign-offs before featuring members.
• Test subject lines, formats, and layouts to improve open/click rates.
• Grow membership and retention.
