Job description

Location: NYC, (Hybrid) in office near Penn Station, Tuesday-Thursday

Type: Full-time

Reports to: VP of Chapters & Events

Compensation: $90K to $120K, depending on experience

About Hampton

Hampton is a private network for high-growth founders running tech-enabled companies with $3M+ in revenue.

Our members are ambitious builders scaling successful companies looking for more than just tactical advice or transactional networking. They want depth. They want peers who truly get it. They want a place where they can talk about the wins, the screwups, the quiet doubts, and the "okay... what now?"

They're scaling businesses, but they also know that their next 10x comes from growing themselves as leaders. That's why they join Hampton.

At the center of Hampton are Core Groups: small, hand-curated circles of founders who meet in person every month to work through their hardest challenges, trade unfiltered feedback, and hold each other accountable at a level that only true peers can. This is where trust is built, breakthroughs happen, and the real value of Hampton comes to life.

The Role

We're hiring a Chapter Lead to own the member experience across a portfolio of Hampton chapters. You'll be the person our founders know by name: the first call after they join, the one who places them in the right Core Group, and the trusted partner they talk to when it's time to renew.

Hampton runs in person chapters across 18 cities in the US, Canada, and London. Each Chapter Lead owns a set of those cities outright, from a member's first week through their renewal and beyond. Your job is to make sure every founder in your chapters feels personally known, lands in a group that feels intentional (not random), and gets real value from Hampton in their first 45 days and every month after.

This role sits at the intersection of relationship management, community building, and operations. You'll work closely with our Core team, Moderator Success Leads, Events, Retreats, and Sales, and you'll be the voice of the member in all of those rooms.

Key Responsibilities
Member Onboarding & Core Group Placement (30%)
  • Be every new member's first point of contact: respond to welcome emails right after the sale and run a 25 minute commitment call that sets expectations and confirms they're ready for an in person group.
  • Deliver immediate value in the first weeks: local intros, event and retreat sign ups, and Core Group placement.
  • Place new members into new and existing Core Groups (including backfills) in partnership with the Core team, so every group stays balanced and healthy.
  • Run the 45 day check-in to confirm every new member is activated.
Relationship Management & Renewals (30%)
  • Build real 1:1 relationships with the founders in your chapters through milestone check-ins, intros, and concierge style support.
  • Lead relationship driven renewal conversations starting 90 days out, so renewals feel natural, not transactional.
  • Monitor member health signals (survey feedback, attendance, renewal intent) and step in fast when a member is at risk.
City Ownership & Community Building (20%)
  • Act as the authority and connector for your cities, including the local Slack channels and member conversations.
  • Surface and shape high impact local event ideas with the Events team, and show up in person to host and meet founders.
  • Identify and support high fit prospective members and drive referrals from your happiest members.
Voice of the Member & Collaboration (10%)
  • Capture member insights and feedback and bring them to Chapters, Core, Events, and Sales to shape what we build.
  • Partner with Moderator Success Leads on group health, moderator swaps, launches, and resets in your chapters.
Data, Systems & Playbooks (10%)
  • Keep member records clean in Hampton OS, HubSpot, and Airtable, and track retention, onboarding, and group health for your cities.
  • Help refine our Chapter playbooks so what works in one city scales to all of them.
Success in This Role Will Be Measured By
  • Strong member retention and renewal rates across your chapters
  • Every new member onboarded, placed, and activated within their first 45 days
  • Thriving, engaged Core Groups with strong attendance
  • Strong attendance and satisfaction at local events
  • Referrals from your members
Who You Are
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in community, customer success, account management, or membership roles, with a track record of delivering exceptional member experiences.
  • Confident and warm in daily founder facing conversations, including the hard ones (renewals, at risk members, sensitive feedback).
  • Highly organized. You can hold hundreds of relationships at once without anyone feeling like a number.
  • A quick learning self starter who thrives in ambiguity while staying detail oriented in a fast paced environment.
  • An exceptional communicator who combines empathy and active listening with humility, wit, and warmth.
  • Data minded. You track the signals and spot what's off before the numbers confirm it.
  • Fluent with AI tools, and you use them to deliver a level of care that would be impossible manually.
  • Comfortable traveling regularly to your assigned cities.
Bonus Points For
  • Experience in customer success, operations, venture platform, hospitality, or other client facing, membership, or community roles.
  • Experience with HubSpot, Airtable, Notion, Slack, or similar tools.
  • Comfort with founder and startup lingo.
  • $90K to $120K salary, depending on experience
