Job summary

Hampton is seeking an Editor, Newsletter + Community in NYC, a hybrid role reporting to the Head of Marketing. You will own two weekly newsletters, writing and sending content, and driving conversations in Slack among a high-powered founder community.

The role emphasizes entertaining yet informative writing, discretion with private information, and the ability to grow membership while maintaining Hampton’s unique voice. Compensation ranges from $80K to $110K plus an individual performance bonus.

Qualifications

• A very good writer with about 3 years of experience preferred.
• Entertaining and informative writing style.
• Comfortable with high-powered people, able to talk to founders.
• Discreet with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
• Interested in founder culture and technology/business concepts.
• Self-starter who needs little supervision.
• Fluent with AI tools and able to leverage them for writing.

Responsibilities

• Write and send both newsletters every week.
• Get people talking in Slack with prompts, polls, and engagement.
• Follow-up questions in threads to elicit detailed stories for features.
• Reach out to members to obtain full context behind threads.
• Improve readability, tone, and alignment with Hampton's voice.
