Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate art foundations courses, including introductory drawing, printmaking, two‑dimensional design, and art appreciation.
• Introduce students to foundational principles of visual art and develop technical and conceptual skills.
• Develop engaging, inclusive, student‑centered instruction for diverse learners.
• Foster experimentation, critical thinking, visual literacy, and development of individual artistic voices.
• Integrate historical, cultural, social, and contemporary perspectives into foundational courses.
• Assess student learning, provide feedback, and mentor portfolios and creative inquiry.
• Contribute to curriculum development, course assessment, and strengthening of foundational art curriculum.
• Maintain an active creative practice and engage in professional development.
• Participate in recruitment, student engagement, exhibitions, and cross‑department collaborations.
• Maintain safe studio practices and provide service to department, college, and university.
