Job summary

AngelList in New York is seeking a Head of Engineering, Foundations to lead the team that owns critical infrastructure supporting multi‑billion-dollar assets. You would be responsible for shipping features, defining standards, and guiding developers through scalable platform solutions.

As a hands‑on leader, you’ll grow a team, set the technical direction, and build sandboxing, audit trails, and rollback mechanisms for systems moving real money across the platform.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in engineering, including 5+ leading teams.
• You write clean, well-tested code and design and ship systems end to end.
• You’ve developed staff and principal ICs to raise other teams’ performance.

Responsibilities

• Hire, coach, and grow a small team of high-performing engineers.
• Build the platform the engineering org runs on: platforms, pipelines, observability, developer tooling.
• Automate infrastructure as code on Kubernetes and AWS using Pulumi, cdk8s, ArgoCD.
• Build the harnesses agents execute inside, including sandboxing, audit trails, and rollback against live-money systems.
• Set engineering standards for reliability and architectural coherence.
