Job summary

Reflection AI Ltd in New York seeks a Platform Foundations Lead to guide the infra layer across multi-cloud, networking, security, and developer tooling. You will mentor a team of engineers, shape architecture, and partner with research and other engineering teams to drive scalable, secure foundations.

You will stay hands-on as needed, manage cloud vendor relationships, and ensure cost-efficient, robust solutions while advancing Reflection’s mission of open and accessible AI foundations.

Qualifications

• Experience building and growing infrastructure or platform teams while staying technically hands-on.
• Deep infra/platform engineering with ownership of production-scale systems.
• Strong coding ability and credibility to earn technical trust.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms, network engineering, security architecture, or developer tooling.
• Fluency with Terraform/Pulumi, Kubernetes, CI/CD and observability tools.
• Experience managing cloud and infrastructure vendors and deals.
• Ability to guide strategy across a multi-cloud, multi-team environment.

Responsibilities

• Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of infrastructure engineers.
• Provide front-line leadership of the foundational platform and secure defaults.
• Stay hands-on to contribute as an individual contributor.
• Manage day-to-day execution and dynamic project priorities.
• Guide technical and architectural decisions focusing on scalability, security, and cost.
• Collaborate with research and engineering teams and manage vendor relationships.
• Raise the bar for judgment, prioritization, and execution in a fast-moving environment.
