AngelList is seeking a Head of Engineering, Foundations to lead a team responsible for critical infrastructure that handles large assets and money movement. You will ship systems end-to-end, set standards, and grow engineers who carry technical excellence across the org.

Based in New York City or San Francisco, this role reports to the CEO with company-level scope. Compensation includes base salary, benefits, and equity; candidates from diverse locations are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in engineering, including 5+ years leading teams.
• Experience shipping end-to-end systems and growing a team.
• Ability to design infrastructure for engineers as a product.

Responsibilities

• Hire, coach, and grow a small team of high-performing engineers.
• Build platform tooling, deployment pipelines, and observability.
• Automate infrastructure as code on Kubernetes and AWS.
• Develop sandboxing, audit trails, and rollback for high-stakes systems.
• Set engineering standards for reliability and coherence.
