Nscale in New York is seeking a Foundry Engineering Lead to act as the technical authority for its Foundry data platform, leading design, development, and governance to underpin internal operations and customer-facing capabilities.

This senior role blends hands-on engineering with leadership, setting architectural direction, building core data infrastructure, mentoring engineers, and driving the roadmap as the platform scales.

Qualifications

• Deep, hands‑on Palantir Foundry expertise with ontology modelling and pipeline development.
• Proven technical leadership guiding architectural direction and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of Foundry implementation for scalability, security, and data integrity.
• Define the technical strategy for Foundry development aligning with business objectives.
• Act as the technical authority, setting standards and owning platform evolution.
• Review code and enforce best practices in data modelling and pipelines.
• Mentor engineers and analysts to raise capability and quality.
• Design and build scalable data pipelines ingesting data from multiple sources.
• Define data models, schemas, and ontology supporting workflows.
• Implement data governance, permissions, and security controls.
• Create trusted datasets and metrics powering internal and customer-facing insights.
• Collaborate with product and commercial teams translating business questions into data solutions.
• Establish data contracts and semantic layers for self-service analytics.
• Ensure data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting for reliability.
• Document data lineage, freshness, and consistency across systems.
• Oversee integration of Foundry with existing systems and data sources.
