AngelList is hiring a Head of Engineering, Foundations to lead the team that owns critical infrastructure running $200B+ in assets and $90B in money movement. The role reports to the CEO and has company-wide scope, guiding platform development and engineering standards.

We hire engineers who ship, coach talent, and shape how the platform serves humans and non-human users alike; expect to set architecture, drive reliability, and scale teams across our New York and San Francisco hubs.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in engineering, including 5+ leading teams.
• A builder who leads and ships end-to-end systems.
• Leverage through senior engineers to raise teams.
• Systems judgment is required for consequential infra.
• Developer experience as a product, designing infrastructure for engineers.
• You author the standard and set architectural direction.

Responsibilities

• Hire, coach, and grow a small team of high-performing engineers, and develop staff and principal engineers.
• Build the platform the whole engineering org runs on: developer platforms, deployment pipelines, observability, and developer tooling.
• Automate infrastructure as code on Kubernetes and AWS, using Pulumi, cdk8s, and ArgoCD.
• Build the harnesses agents execute inside, including sandboxing, audit trails, and rollback against systems that move real money.
• Set the engineering standards for reliability, operability, and architectural coherence, and sequence quality work across teams.
