Job summary

Georgia Southern University in Savannah, GA, seeks an experienced accounting leader to oversee the University Philanthropic and Athletic Foundations’ general accounting and financial reporting. You will ensure transaction accuracy, maintain the general ledger, manage budgets, develop reports, and support CFO with cash management and strategic initiatives.

The role requires a Bachelor's in accounting, 4+ years of experience, and preference for CPA, Raisers Edge/Financial Edge skills, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• Minimum of four years of accounting experience.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
• Raisers Edge and Financial Edge experience is a plus.
• Nonprofit and fund accounting experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve on CFO's Leadership team and support audit and tax return compliance.
• Oversee investment, endowment and administrative fee activity reporting.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Coordinate with university finance on inter-entity charges and NCAA reporting support.
• Supervise staff handling accounts payable, budget reporting and reconciliations.
• Provide training on Blackbaud Financial Edge and financial reporting tools.
