Job summary

Florida Gulf Coast University seeks a Staff Accountant to perform moderately complex accounting functions for the Foundation finance office, including data preparation for journal entries and reviewing the general ledger. The role supports on-campus operations and collaboration across departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.

The position requires knowledge of GAAP, Workday or similar ERP, and strong analytical and communication skills to work with staff and faculty.

Qualifications

• Six years of directly related full-time experience or a Bachelor's degree in Accounting plus two years of related experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Reconciles assigned accounts and corrects the general ledger.
• Prepares financial reports, balance sheets, budgets and summaries.
• Performs analyses of accounting activities and identifies discrepancies.
• Audits transactions to ensure compliance with policies, federal/state regulations, and GAAP.
• Maintains and reconciles daily, monthly and quarterly transactions.
• Compiles and distributes monthly Foundation financial reports to departments.
