The State of Georgia is seeking an Accounting Director to oversee the administration, development and implementation of accounting initiatives for a technical college. You will supervise staff, manage the operating budget and guide all accounting activities to ensure fiscal integrity.

Essential duties include implementing GAAP and statutory requirements, preparing financial reports, and maintaining internal controls while liaising with banks, auditors and external partners.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, public administration or a closely related field and three (3) years full-time work experience.
• Master’s degree in accounting and five (5) years work-related experience.

Responsabilidades

• Manages GAAP and Governmental Accounting Standards in a comprehensive accounting program.
• Analyses financial statistics to identify trends affecting the college’s fiscal position.
• Supervises personnel involved in financial and accounting operations.
• Prepares financial reports in standard and specialized formats.
• Maintains internal controls to preserve integrity of financial records.
• Represents the college’s financial interests with banks, vendors, auditors and external customers.
