Job summary

Food & Water Watch is seeking a seasoned Director of Foundation Relations to lead the foundations program and expand grants exceeding $5 million annually. This remote role requires experience in prospect research, cultivation, and high-quality grant writing.

You will supervise a Foundations Team and collaborate with finance and program staff to meet budgets and deadlines. The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in fundraising, strong CRM and reporting skills, and a proven track record of securing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 8-10 years of fundraising experience in a relevant field or program.
• 2-3 years of management or relevant experience.
• Proven results of securing six and seven figure grants.
• CRM experience with reports for analytics.
• Experience communicating with funders for prospecting, cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation.
• Experience managing a portfolio of 100+ foundations.

Responsibilities

• Lead foundation fundraising strategy and oversee national foundation program.
• Build relationships with institutional funders to secure $5M+ annually.
• Manage a high-performing Foundations Team including a Senior Manager and a Senior Grant Writer.
• Produce high-quality grant materials and ensure timely submissions.
• Coordinate with finance on grant budgets and financial reports.
• Track grants in Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack and keep foundation records updated.
• Lead meetings with funders and train staff on best practices.
