Job summary

Food & Water Watch is seeking a seasoned Director of Foundation Relations to lead its philanthropy program. This role advances national foundation fundraising, oversees a grant portfolio, and co-ordinates a Foundations Team. The position is primarily remote with occasional in-person meetings and travel.

The ideal candidate has a track record in six- to seven-figure grants, strong grant-writing skills, and comfort engaging funders and board members. A passion for justice and equity is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 8–10 years fundraising experience in a relevant field.
• 2–3 years of management experience.
• Proven six- to seven-figure grant success and full grant cycle management.
• 2+ years of CRM/database experience with reporting.
• Strong written and verbal communication with funders and teams.
• Experience juggling 100+ foundation relationships and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead Foundation Fundraising Strategy and annual/long-term goals.
• Manage a portfolio of foundation donors to secure $5M+ annually.
• Supervise a Foundations Team and mentor staff.
• Oversee grant materials, deadlines, and narrative quality.
• Coordinate budgets and financials with the finance team.
• Track grants in Salesforce NPSP and maintain records.
• Develop moves-management plans and donor communications.
