Job summary

Food & Water Watch seeks a Director of Foundation Relations to lead institutional fundraising efforts, manage a portfolio of foundation funders, and drive a program that raises more than $5 million annually. This primarily remote role reports to the Managing Director of Philanthropy and supervises a Senior Manager of Foundation Relations and a Senior Grant Writer.

The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in fundraising, at least 2–3 years of management, and proven success with six- to seven-figure

Qualifications

• 8–10 years fundraising experience in relevant field or program.
• 2–3 years of management or relevant experience.
• Proven six- to seven-figure grant results and full grant cycle management.
• CRM experience with reporting for analytical purposes.
• Strong writing and verbal communication with funders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead national foundations fundraising strategy.
• Manage portfolio of foundation donors and prospects to secure 5M+ annually.
• Lead a Foundations team and mentor staff to meet performance goals.
• Produce high-quality grant materials and ensure deadlines.
• Coordinate with finance on grant budgets and reports.
• Track grants in Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack and maintain records.
• Lead funder meetings and train staff on best practices.
• Set annual and long-term budget goals and monitor progress.
• Attend program and campaign meetings to stay aligned with 20+ campaigns.
