Job summary

Association of Fundraising Professionals - NYC Chapter seeks an experienced Foundation and Government Giving Manager to lead grant writing and fundraising strategy. Qualifications

• 3–4+ years of grant writing experience with a portfolio of successful foundation and/or government proposals.
• Excellent and demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Suite, including Word/Docs and Excel/Sheets.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Familiarity with New York City, NY state, and federal grant interfaces and processes preferred.
• Experience with CRM databases such as Salesforce preferred.
• Experience with Project Management software, such as Asana, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Write and assemble all foundation and government proposals, letters of inquiry (LOIs), and reports.
• Assist in the creation of the organization’s Annual Report.
• Use discretion and independent judgment in presenting program content and impact.
• Work with program teams to develop narrative content and with finance team to develop budget narratives and data visualizations.
• Research program topic areas and target populations, incorporating findings into proposals.
• Monitor grant deliverables and reporting requirements.
• Communicate grant requirements and outcomes to program teams.
• Support data collection system improvements across the organization.
• Build and manage a portfolio of mid-level funders totaling $500,000+ annually.
• Identify cultivation opportunities among new funders and coordinate site visits and meetings.
• Drive cultivation and stewardship through tailored communications and publications.
• Own the moves management process for each funder in your portfolio in Salesforce.
