Job summary

Benedictine is seeking a Foundation Development Director to lead fundraising efforts for its communities in Minnesota and Wisconsin. You will build major gift pipelines, manage donor relationships, and partner with leaders to align fundraising with strategic goals.

The role requires strong interpersonal, communication, and governance skills, with a focus on ethics and stewardship. A comprehensive benefits package is offered along with a competitive salary range.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, business, communications or related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in fundraising, development, or related field.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Acceptable driving record that meets Benedictine requirements.
  • Experience in major gift solicitation.
  • Experience in working with volunteer boards.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email and internet applications.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards major gift donors. Builds and manages a portfolio of at least 75 prospective major gift donors.
  • Completes timely reports of meetings, proposals, communication and progress in Raisers Edge, meeting/exceeding Foundation metrics at all times.
  • Partners with Community Executive Director(s) and other Benedictine leaders to ensure thoughtful engagement and relationship management.
  • Documents all donor visits and/or meaningful interactions to coordinate communication with stakeholders.
  • Oversees donor/prospect data and upholds confidential handling and release of information; follows State and Federal regulations and Benedictine policies.
  • Promotes the Benedictine Mission and Core Values by everyday actions.
  • Performs other duties, tasks, and/or projects as assigned.

Foundation Development Director

Overview

The Foundation Development Director is responsible for raising funds to meet Benedictine's financial goals for communities within the organization. This position will work on behalf of assigned Benedictine communities in close partnership with the Support Center, and Operational leadership teams. This position will develop and execute fundraising strategies and implement best practices. The Foundation Development Director will advance relationships between donors and prospective donors with the purpose of securing major gift commitments to further the mission of the organization. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, management competencies, communication skills, and ethical principles.

Responsibilities

Secures philanthropic funds to meet/exceed annual philanthropy goals and meets monthly metrics and utilizes best practices.

  • Promotes the Benedictine Mission and Core Values of Hospitality, Stewardship, Respect and Justice by bringing the Mission and Core Values into the day-to-day activities of the company.
  • Performs other duties, tasks, and/or projects as assigned.
