Job summary

First Place for Youth is seeking a Housing Coordinator to assist transition age youth (TAY) in the Bay Area. This role focuses on securing housing under a time-limited subsidy, engaging landlords, and coordinating with TAY Case Managers to ensure timely paperwork and suitability of units.

You will educate participants on tenancy rights and responsibilities, manage subsidy administration, and help with utilities, deposits, and moving costs where funds allow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in housing or real estate.
• Experience building relationships with landlords and property managers.
• Knowledge of current housing laws, fair market rents, and rent reasonableness standards.
• Ability to drive between multiple housing search locations in the Bay Area.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain landlord and property manager inventory for the RRH program.
• Engage landlords to promote subsidy opportunities and build relationships.
• Guide participants in securing and maintaining affordable housing plus rights and responsibilities.
• Assist with housing forms, applications, and verifications for qualifications.
• Coordinate housing viewings and paperwork with case managers.
