Job summary

First Place for Youth is seeking a Resource Specialist to empower transition-age youth experiencing homelessness. The role involves leading group workshops, offering drop-in education and employment support, and building critical community resources across San Francisco and Alameda County.

You will collaborate with TAY Case Managers, navigate public benefits, housing stability, and education systems, and help youth develop skills for independence. Requires in-person work Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in counseling, psychology, social work, business, education or related field required.
• Two years of full-time social work or casework in family or child welfare services preferred.
• Two years workforce development experience (education systems, workforce development, career coaching) required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with database systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Organize and deliver skills-building workshops related to career, education, and employment.
• Provide 1-on-1 drop-in support to help youth reach education and employment goals.
• Provide coaching, identify barriers and develop joint plans with youth and case managers.
