Job summary

Humane Society for Hamilton County in Fishers, IN is seeking a Foster Program Manager to run the foster program end-to-end. You will lead two coordinators, review applications daily, and match animals with the best foster families while ensuring medical care and timely rechecks.

You’ll recruit and train foster families, work with marketing to find homes for urgent cases, and serve as the steady voice for fosters during difficult moments. This is a people- and animal-first role.

Qualifications

• Experience in a shelter or rescue foster program or similar setting.
• Experience supervising or leading a team and training staff.
• Ability to manage welfare of animals in foster care and coordinate medical needs.
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency with office software.
• Excellent communication with fosters, adopters, staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the foster program from intake to placement.
• Lead two Foster Program Coordinators and review applications daily.
• Match animals with suitable foster families and monitor care medically.
• Recruit, train, and support foster families; collaborate with marketing to find homes.
• Be the primary point of contact for foster questions and after-hours needs.
