Job summary

MercyFirst is seeking a Homefinding Supervisor in Brooklyn to lead the Homefinding team, supervise staff, and drive recruitment and certification of foster homes. The role emphasizes trauma-informed, family-centered service and ensuring compliance with NYS and agency standards.

Occasional travel to Queens, Staten Island, and Long Island offices is required. The position requires a Master’s degree in social work or related field, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, mental health or a relevant field.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and strong assessment abilities.
• Ability to handle emergencies and work under pressure, including evenings and weekends.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, FACS and Connections.
• Commitment to the agency’s mission, DEIB and values.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train and coach Homefinding staff and support recruitment and certification of foster homes.
• Manage strategies to help foster parents meet mandated requirements.
• Lead NTDC and TRIPP training programs.
• Review home studies to ensure NYS/agency standards and recertification.
• Oversee certifications in Connections, ASARA & FACS and monitor compliance.
• Coordinate with Intake/Admissions for placement of children and monitor licensing data.
• Participate in the EFFC visitation program and provide after-hours emergency coverage.
• Attend mandated meetings and promote positive relationships between foster parents and staff.
• Navigate systems including ASARA, Connections and FACS.
