Job summary

Animal Care Center of NYC is seeking a Foster Program Coordinator to oversee the foster program operations and support a large network of foster parents. You will help coordinate animal movement, assist with adoptions, and work closely with staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

This nonprofit shelter emphasizes humane handling, stress management in a fast-paced environment, and collaboration with veterinary and community partners to place animals into loving homes.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years in a client-facing role.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• Humane handling techniques and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to foster volunteers to ensure all their needs are met, including answering questions and following up on medical concerns.
• Coordinate transportation of foster animals to volunteers, between centers, and to adoption events.
• Coordinate with Veterinary Services to ensure vaccines, treatment plans, and follow-up appointments are arranged.
