Animal Care & Control of NYC is seeking a Foster Program Coordinator to manage the day-to-day foster operations and move animals in and out of foster homes. You will support a network of over 800 foster parents and help facilitate adoptions for every animal in foster care.

The role involves coordinating with Veterinary Services, ensuring humane handling, and assisting with adoption processes in a busy NYC shelter environment. Training and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years in a client facing role.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, often high-stress environment.
• Humane handling techniques from animals and people.
• Must lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Experience with Microsoft Office preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide support to foster volunteers, answer questions, and address behavioral or medical concerns.
• Coordinate transportation of foster animals to volunteers, care centers, and events.
• Work with Veterinary Services to ensure vaccines and treatment plans are followed and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Identify appropriate foster animals for off-site adoption, outreach, and media opportunities.
• Arrange logistics for foster events including behavior assessments, medical, and transport.
• Assist Foster Supervisor with managing the foster volunteer database.
• Capture and secure photographs of animals for foster and events.
• Recruit new foster volunteers through orientations, interviews, and training.
• Lead Open Foster Hours and identify suitable animals for new fosters.
• Achieve Fear Free certification within 30 days of hire.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
