Job summary

The Children’s Home Society seeks a Placement Specialist in Greensboro to ensure foster/adoptive placements meet the needs of children and families, including therapeutic foster care, case management, and data entry.

This role involves facilitating placements, maintaining records, coordinating visits, collaborating with supervisors, and participating in outreach and audits to support permanency services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related human services required; master’s preferred.
• 2–5 years’ child welfare services experience required.
• TIPS-MAPP/Deciding Together training and licensing training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive foster and adoption services, pre-placement assessments, and post-placement services.
• Maintain records on all licensed homes and conduct quarterly visits.
• Communicate with foster/adoptive families and collaborate with supervisors to place children.
• Provide adoption services for foster parents and maintain monthly visitation and case management.
• Maintain Medicaid/MCO documentation and participate in treatment teams and audits.
