Job summary

SAFY is hiring a Licensing Specialist in Las Vegas, NV to license and retain quality foster homes and adoptive parents. You will conduct home visits, prepare home studies, and guide families through licensing while ensuring regulatory compliance and SAFY standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in social work, counseling, psychology, sociology, child and family studies, etc.
• Two years of relevant work experience in human services or child welfare.
• Comfortable with public speaking and facilitation of group training.
• Strong problem solving, organizational, multitasking and written/oral communication skills.
• Current certification in First Aid/ CPR and de-escalation training.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHR systems.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for knowledge and implementation of foster parent onboarding and retention rules, regulations, and SAFY policies.
• Provide development and training of prospective foster parents and ongoing support to licensed homes.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with youth, foster parents, community organizations, referring agencies and SAFY stakeholders.
• Complete home visits to assess foster suitability and provide recommendations for training.
• Develop comprehensive home studies in line with local regulatory and contractual requirements.
• Assist families with paperwork; maintain records in appropriate systems.
• Complete annual evaluations and ensure compliance for recertification.
• Collaborate with partners to recruit, retain and support foster families.
• Support foster parents with education, meetings and retention activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and adapt to cultural differences among staff, clients and vendors.
• May require nontraditional hours including weekends.
• Handle other duties or special projects as assigned.
