Job summary

Scale is hiring a Senior/Staff Product Designer to lead product design for Scale's Public Sector unit, focusing on government and defense customers. You will own end-to-end design of core workflows—planning, operations, or analytics—working with product from day one and on-site with customers.

This forward-deployed role requires direct stakeholder engagement, designing dashboards, mapping interfaces, and collaborating with engineers to ship experiences.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of design experience across various settings.
• Experience owning end-to-end B2B or enterprise product design at senior/staff level.
• Ability to work with high ambiguity and evolving requirements in government/enterprise engagements.
• Experience designing complex workflows, dashboards, or data-heavy interfaces.
• Strong client-facing presence with ability to present to senior stakeholders in person.
• Understanding of front-end development and handoff with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design for a government/defense product experience.
• Partner with Product from earliest stages as a peer.
• Work on-site with customers, socializing design decisions with stakeholders.
• Design complex dashboards, mapping interfaces, alerts, and analytics tools.
• Collaborate with engineers on code and shipped experience.
• Contribute design assets and patterns back to the platform.
• Help calibrate and grow the design team through reviews and interviews.
• Define requirements amidst ambiguity.
