Job summary

Scale AI is recruiting for a hybrid, customer-facing engineer on the Public Sector Engineering team. You will embed with U.S. government customers, own delivery from prototype to production, and ship software that customers rely on in the field.

The role demands robust back-end work, data integrations, and close collaboration with product and engineering. You will operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, with opportunities to influence Scale's platform in support of critical missions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in customer-facing or government contexts.
• Strong production coding in Python and TypeScript (or comparable languages).
• Comfort across the stack including cloud platforms, containers, Linux, and networking fundamentals.
• Active TS/SCI clearance, or eligibility to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Embed with government customers to understand their mission and turn it into working software.
• Own delivery end-to-end from prototype to production at customer sites.
• Build robust backend systems and data integrations connecting customer environments to Scale's platform.
• Partner with product and engineering to feed field signals back into the roadmap.
• Serve as the technical point of contact for customer stakeholders and drive adoption.
