Job summary

Accenture is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer in California to build and ship services in the agentic identity stack, including authorization engines and credential brokers, while integrating with client environments. You will own components end to end and explain your design to client engineers.

You may have IAM experience; if not, we’ll teach you. Travel 0–100% depending on client needs and engagements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience building and shipping production software.
• Hands-on production development within last 18 months.
• 2+ years in Python, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Java, or C++.
• 2+ years building concurrent or distributed systems in production.
• 2+ years deploying and operating cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Bachelor's degree in CS (or equivalent) or 12 years work experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship services in the agentic identity stack: authorization engines, agent registries, credential brokers, and authentication layers for MCP servers.
• Own a component end to end: design, implementation, deployment, and failure handling.
• Reverse-engineer how identity works in a client environment and design improvements.
• Prototype against emerging standards and vendor betas, often before documentation exists.
• Build internal tooling and reference implementations for reuse across the practice.
• Explain your design to a client's engineers and defend the parts they push back on.
• You may have some identity background; if not, we’ll teach you.
