Job summary

Tennr in New York seeks a Forward Deployed Engineering Team Manager to lead a pod of engineers and own delivery outcomes across the book: clean builds, on-time milestones, and growing accounts. You set the quality bar and drive execution across multiple accounts, partnering with Account Partners, Implementation Engineers, and Product to ensure success.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing a team of implementation, solutions, or technical delivery professionals.
• Track record of delivering complex customer implementations; healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong technical judgment on architecture and workflow design; able to guide a build without taking over.
• Comfort inspecting work and maintaining high standards, even when it looks fine.
• Clear communication with customers and executives; surface risk early.
• Experience partnering with Product to translate patterns into roadmap priorities.
• High ownership mindset in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

• Own your team’s key metrics: time to first outcome from go-live, delivery predictability on milestones, and adoption across accounts.
• Set the quality bar: review scoping and architectures; require dry runs for high-stakes moments; coach execution.
• Hire and develop every FDE in the pod through 1:1s and growth plans.
• Act as first line of defense on escalations: diagnose root causes and coordinate fixes.
• Serve as the technical solutioning partner for complex architecture/workflow problems.
• Act as final scoping gate on pre-sales engagements; catch post-sale risk before contracts close.
• Turn patterns across accounts into signals for Product and close the loop with the team.
