Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Voice Agent Engineer to connect GTM AI agents with real‑world customer outcomes. You will design, build, and iterate on fullstack systems powering AI agents from concept to deployment, while collaborating with product, design, and GTM teams to improve UX for non-technical users.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in a product-oriented software role, a CS/engineering degree, and strong TypeScript/React/Next.js/Node.js skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a product-oriented software engineering role.
• CS/Engineering degree; startup/consulting or customer-facing tech experience is a plus.
• Strong fundamentals in TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Node.js.
• Familiarity with APIs, data flows, and debugging live systems.
• Interest in AI/ML, conversational AI, or voice technologies.

About the Role

As a Voice Agent Engineer, you’ll be the connective tissue between our GTM AI agents and real-world customer outcomes. AI is redefining the way people sell - and the Voice team is on the front lines of making that happen.

Location

Location is flexible—we’re hiring in San Francisco (in-office) and remotely throughout the U.S. and Canada.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and iterate on fullstack systems that power AI agents from concept to deployment


• Research and evaluate new approaches to agent orchestration, prompting strategies, and model alignment


• Collaborate with product, design, and GTM teams to improve UX and usability for non-technical users


• Share learnings, document findings, and contribute to the evolution of internal best practices


• Participate in peer reviews, brainstorming sessions, and technical deep dives with our global team

Ideal Candidates Have

• 3+ years of experience in a product-oriented software engineering role


• A CS/Engineering degree & professional experience; bonus if you’ve worked in a startup, consulting, or customer-facing technical role before


• Strong programming fundamentals in Typescript, React, NextJS, and NodeJS


• Familiarity with APIs, data flows, and debugging live systems


• Interest in AI/ML, conversational AI, or voice technologies


• Responsive and proactive in addressing customer needs with bias for action - comfortable shipping quickly and improving continuously in live deployments

US Base salary range: $180,000 – $200,000 USD

*Final offer will be based on a variety of factors, including role level, relevant experience, skills, and job-related expertise.
