Job summary

Jobtailor in Redwood City, CA is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to own end-to-end onboarding, deployment, and production rollout for strategic enterprise accounts. You will serve as the primary technical point of contact and build strong customer relationships across complex on-premises and hybrid environments.

Design scalable workflows across AWS, GCP, Azure, and on-prem Kubernetes, translate ambiguous requirements into concrete architectures, and guide customers from contract signing

Responsibilities

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in a post-sales individual-contributor capacity, owning customer deployments as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Post-Sales Solutions Engineer/Architect, Implementation Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, or customer-facing engineer


• Hands-on machine learning and model training experience, including pre-training, mid-training, and post-training concepts


• Real experience deploying software into enterprise customer infrastructure


• Strong Python proficiency (required)


• AWS proficiency (required)


• Track record of owning the full post-sales enterprise lifecycle, including onboarding and optimization


• Experience building post-sales processes or playbooks from scratch


• Comfort operating in ambiguous, high-stakes, and fast-moving environments


• Technical degree (CS or equivalent)


• Ability to translate ambiguous customer requirements into concrete technical architecture


• Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed, roughly 15%


• Exposure to multi-cloud environments (GCP, Azure), on-prem or hybrid Kubernetes, or broader ML tooling is a nice-to-have


• Ability to complete live Python coding, system design, architecture, technical deep-dive, behavioral, stakeholder, and cross-functional interviews


• Authorization to work in the United States; visa transfers, including OPT and H-1B transfers, are supported
