Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Lead Product Insights Engineer to head the hosting, integration, and delivery of platform-based products. You will build and mentor a high-performing team, set strategic tech direction, and design scalable hosting architectures with robust monitoring.

Collaborate across product, platform, AI/analytics, and partner teams to align requirements and remove cross-team roadblocks. Expect hands-on involvement and a focus on reliability, performance, and customer impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum eight years of professional experience in software engineering, including complex distributed, autonomous, or mission-critical systems.
• At least two years leading engineering teams as a people manager or technical lead with formal leadership responsibilities.
• Minimum two years managing or leading high-performing engineering teams, including hiring, capacity planning, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience designing and building scalable production software solutions and architectures.
• Hands-on experience with AWS EKS, S3, EC2, Aurora/RDS, SQS, SNS, Batch, and related cloud services.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to bridge technical teams and non-technical business units.
• Some programs may require U.S. citizenship
• Preferred: Master’s degree or higher in a relevant technical field
• Preferred: 10+ years of professional engineering experience, including high-availability or mission-critical software leadership
• Preferred: 2+ years in the geospatial industry
• Preferred: MLOps and DataOps knowledge and experience
• Preferred: Distributed compute experience with Kubernetes and Dask
• Preferred: Strong Python or Golang proficiency and production software experience in data ETL, microservices, geospatial, data analytics, or cloud deployment
• Preferred: Knowledge of system safety, fault tolerance, redundancy, and recovery strategies
• Preferred: Experience partnering with Product, Sales, and Executive leadership to align roadmaps with business goals
• Preferred: Experience aligning engineering execution with commercial production SLAs and program-specific requirements
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations for ITAR compliance

Responsibilities

• Identify risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities to accelerate product delivery.
• Support sprint planning, team capacity management, and roadmap development.
