Inventure, a Bay Area voice AI company in Redwood City, is hiring Forward Deployed Engineers for an all-in, in-person team. The role focuses on building AI-powered voice agents that handle sales, support and logistics calls for thousands of companies.

The team operates six days a week onsite, with a live coding style and no AI-assisted screening. Ideal candidates have hands-on production engineering experience across startups or rapid growth, strong React/Node/Python/AWS capabilities, a CS/CE/EE

A Bay Area voice AI company has gone from about $5M to roughly $80M ARR in under two years, profitably, on less than $5M ever raised. I'm helping them hire Forward Deployed Engineers.

What they do: AI voice agents that run the sales, support and logistics calls that used to need large human teams, now used by thousands of companies. The 2026 plan is to run whole contact centres on it, with AI handling the frontline, the QA and the management of customer calls. Backed by Y Combinator, and a top-50 app on a16z’s AI list.

This is an all-in, in-person team: onsite in Redwood City, six days a week, everyone deep in the build. It’s the right fit if you want to go all‑out at this stage of a company rather than settle into a nine-to-five.

What they’re looking for:

A few years of recent, hands‑on production engineering, ideally across multiple startups, as a founding engineer, or on a fast climb through big tech.

Real customer‑facing experience, whether as a solutions engineer, FDE, technical PM or founder. You can hold your own in a room with a non-technical stakeholder.

Strong across React, Node, Python and AWS, with genuine distributed‑systems depth.

A degree in CS, CE or EE.

Voice AI or senior/staff-level depth is a bonus, not a requirement.

Two things worth knowing before you apply: the technical screen is live coding with no AI tools, and they can take visa transfers and TN but not net‑new H‑1Bs.

Base is $215K–$290K depending on level, plus equity.
