Job summary

Morpheus Talent Solutions is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer in New York (Hybrid). You will work directly with strategic customers to diagnose friction points and ship production-grade voice AI solutions that go live quickly.

Responsibilities include embedding with customers, designing and deploying production systems, owning the full lifecycle, and collaborating with product teams to improve the platform. 3+ years of software engineering and customer-facing experience are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with production systems
• Customer-facing technical experience such as forward deployed, solutions engineering or consulting
• Strong backend engineering skills and ability to operate real infrastructure
• Familiarity with voice AI, speech systems, real-time audio pipelines or ML/LLM is a plus

Location: New York (Hybrid)

Compensation: $180,000 - $250,000 + Bonus + Equity

About the Role

We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to sit at the intersection of cutting-edge Voice AI and real customer problems. You'll work directly with our most strategic customers, understanding their workflows, diagnosing friction points, and shipping production-grade solutions that turn ambiguous problems into working systems. This isn't a research role or a pure backend role. It's for engineers who want to be in the room with customers, get their hands dirty with real deployments, and see their work go live fast.

What You'll Do

• Embed directly with customers to understand how they actually use voice AI in production, not just what they say they need
• Design, build, and ship production-ready systems that integrate frontier voice AI models into real customer environments
• Own the full lifecycle: prototype, harden, deploy, monitor, and iterate based on live usage
• Translate messy, ambiguous customer problems into clear technical solutions, then build them
• Work closely with product and research teams to feed real-world learnings back into the core platform
• Be the technical backbone of customer engagements, from technical discovery through go-live and beyond
• Debug and resolve production issues quickly, often under time pressure, while maintaining a high bar for reliability

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping production systems end-to-end
• Experience working directly with customers or in a customer-facing technical role (forward deployed, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or similar)
• Strong systems and backend engineering skills; you can build and operate real infrastructure, not just prototypes
• Familiarity with voice AI, speech systems, real-time audio pipelines, or applied ML/LLM systems is a strong plus
• A genuine obsession with customer outcomes. You're energized by solving someone else's hard problem, not just writing elegant code
• Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action. You'd rather build a working version and iterate than wait for a perfect spec

• Excellent communication skills; you can talk to engineers and non-technical stakeholders with equal clarity
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed
