Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Data Engineer (Forward Deployed) to embed with infrastructure product teams, turning asset and configuration data into governed data products that power security controls and enterprise analytics.

You will partner with compute, network, storage and cloud teams to close data visibility gaps, define data contracts, and establish data quality monitoring and lineage across the data mesh.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on data engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• 5+ years hands-on data engineering across data modeling, data pipeline development, and data quality engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with ability to build reliable, testable data transformations.
• Experience diagnosing data quality issues and implementing controls to prevent recurrence.
• Experience working directly with partner teams and knowledge of infrastructure data domains.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Embed with infrastructure product teams to discover data sources, ownership, definitions, formats, and quality gaps.
• Design and deliver integrations that publish governed data products into a data mesh ecosystem with lineage.
• Establish data quality rules and monitoring at the source and drive durable fixes.
• Standardize data attributes across domains to enable reliable downstream consumption and policy enforcement.
• Define and implement data contracts to reduce operational risk for dependent teams.
• Reconcile infrastructure asset inventories to close completeness and accuracy gaps.
• Coordinate with product, engineering, and governance stakeholders on authoritative sources and stewardship.
• Maintain metadata management practices to support auditability and transparency.
