Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) is seeking a Forward Deployed Data Engineer in Chicago, IL to rapidly design and deploy data-driven solutions embedded with product teams. The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, architecture ownership, and building AI-powered data pipelines that drive business decisions.

You will work with LangChain, LangGraph, and other agentic tools, delivering prototype systems that meet enterprise standards for security and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software or data engineering experience, including solution design and architecture ownership.
• Hands-on experience building AI agents, including defining agent skills, tool use, memory, and multi-step reasoning.
• Experience with agentic frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or Semantic Kernel.
• Proficiency in Python and data engineering: pipelines, ETL/ELT, data modeling, SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern data stack tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead solution design for complex, cross-functional data and AI problems from discovery to blueprint.
• Design scalable, modular systems balancing speed with enterprise reliability and security.
• Develop AI agents and multi-agent pipelines with robust guardrails and monitoring.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to embed data engineering in fast-paced teams.
