Job summary

Vannevar Labs is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer for the Honolulu area who will own mission-focused software architectures and deployments. You will work directly with operators and analysts, translating mission needs into scalable solutions and delivering them in production environments.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years as a full-stack developer, RMF experience, and a TS/SCI clearance. The role is remote with travel, and in-office hybrid work is available in Honolulu, HI.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Full Stack Developer handling mission-critical systems.
• Must hold an active U.S. TS Security clearance with SCI Eligibility.
• Hybrid role in Honolulu office.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and own software solutions deployed directly to customer environments in support of mission-critical use cases
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customer stakeholders
• Own end-to-end technical delivery for mission workstreams from requirements to deployment
• Contribute hands-on code to improve product capabilities across use cases
• Build software that handles large-scale data including text, multimedia, and geospatial datasets across 46 languages
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to plan and deliver complex features
• Support government-facing artifacts like RFIs, RFPs, SOWs, and white papers
• Navigate government IT ecosystems ensuring security, compliance, and operations
• This is a fully remote role, but travel 20-30% to field locations
