Job summary

OpenAI’s Forward Deployed Engineering team seeks a veteran engineer to own end-to-end deployments within healthcare organizations, translating complex customer workflows into production AI solutions. You will lead discovery, architecture, implementation, evaluation, and handoff, working with customer and internal teams to ensure secure, compliant deployments.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software or ML/AI engineering experience.
• Experience as a senior engineer, tech lead, or deployment owner.
• Hands-on experience with deployment of complex customer-facing systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical solution end to end from discovery to production deployment and handoff.
• Collaborate with customer engineers and domain experts to translate workflows into technical requirements.
• Design and implement production AI applications integrated with customer infrastructure and enterprise systems.
• Build safeguards for PHI, HIPAA, privacy, security, governance, and auditability.
• Define evaluations, validation evidence, and launch criteria aligned to customer thresholds.
• Use evaluation results and feedback to improve reliability, performance, and production readiness.
• Translate deployment learnings into reference architectures and reusable patterns for regulated environments.
