Job summary

OpenAI Forward Deployed Engineer role is to own end-to-end deployment of AI models within healthcare organizations, translating complex workflows into production systems. Based in Seattle with a hybrid model, you will lead technical discovery, architecture, implementation, evaluation, production deployment, adoption, and handoff, while ensuring regulatory and security requirements are met.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software/ML engineering or deployment roles.
• Hands-on ownership of customer deployments across stages.
• Healthcare domain experience with payer/provider/EHR workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end deployment projects for production AI systems.
• Collaborate with customer engineers and domain experts to translate workflows.
• Design and implement AI applications integrated with clinical data, APIs and EHR systems.
• Ensure safeguards for PHI, HIPAA, privacy, and security compliance.
• Define evaluation criteria and launch readiness criteria.
• Improve system reliability and production readiness using feedback.
