Job summary

Salesforce is seeking Forward Deployed Engineers to design, build, and deploy agentic AI solutions inside enterprise environments. You will partner with a Deployment Strategist to co-build and ship real code in production from day one, handling end-to-end delivery and customer impact.

You’ll work on AI-powered development, data pipelines, and platform capabilities, with opportunities to mentor others and influence product direction while traveling ~25% as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years (6-10 years for Senior levels) of software engineering or technical delivery experience.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Prior customer-facing technical delivery experience (consulting, professional services, or forward deployed engineering).
• Fluent in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex.
• Hands-on with LLMs and prompt engineering.
• Understand data modeling, APIs, and integration patterns deeply.
• Ability to work with sales teams and customer architects.
• Ship quality code and evaluate AI outputs with engineering rigor.
• Tinker with evolving AI/data landscape — piloting new tools and models.
• Thrive in a collaborative, customer-facing delivery environment.
• Willing to travel ~25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI agents and experiences that take real actions for real organizations in production at large enterprises.
• Design agent intelligence: prompts, reasoning, tool calls, and integration with customer systems.
• Own technical components end-to-end from architecture to production.
• Build and integrate data pipelines on Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, Databricks, and customer data platforms.
• Build and maintain agent performance dashboards and KPI reports.
• Contribute to proofs-of-concept and MVPs that move to deployment quickly.
• Co-build with customers and partners to transfer knowledge.
• Surface platform gaps and provide feedback to senior engineers and product teams.
• Partner with Deployment Strategist to translate customer challenges into ship-ready solutions.
