American Electric Power in Fort Wayne, IN offers a 10-12 week paid Engineering Internship. Eligible students will receive a $1,500/month housing stipend if relocating.

The program seeks ABET-accredited juniors in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, with a graduation date of December 2027 or later. You’ll collaborate with engineers on real projects, participate in design reviews, and gain exposure to power system operations while developing skills in data, safety and problem

Qualifications

• Pursuing ABET-accredited engineering degree (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical or Chemical).
• Completed freshman year.
• Graduation December 2027 or later.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Not eligible for sponsorship, OPT, or CPT.
• Willingness to relocate for summer internship.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with project teams on planning, design and execution of engineering projects.
• Participate in design reviews, training sessions and constructability assessments.
• Support field visits to facilities to understand power system operations.
• Assist in developing databases, reports and dashboards for data-driven decisions.
• Contribute to safety documentation and adherence to safety guidelines.
