Job summary

GenScript Biotech Corporation is seeking a highly motivated Nanoparticle Formulation Scientist to develop lipid nanoparticle platforms for RNA delivery and related formulations. The role emphasizes high-throughput process development, rigorous characterization, and collaboration with the RNA team.

You will design and optimize LNPs for mRNA, DNA, and peptide delivery, write protocols and reports, and interact with IP teams.

Qualifications

• Master or PhD in a field like pharmaceutical science, chemistry or biochemistry; Master preferred.
• Strong knowledge of lipid and polymeric nanoparticle delivery technologies.
• 4+ years in nucleic acid delivery with hands-on LNP formulation and characterization.

Responsibilities

• Develop new lipid nanoparticle formulations for RNA/DNA/peptide delivery to target diseases.
• Develop methods to characterize physical properties of antibody-decorated LNPs.
• Scale up LNP production and downstream processes for higher efficiency.
• Produce formulations for RNA projects and support in vitro validation.
• Write study protocols, technical reports and SOPs for mRNA product development.
• Collaborate with IP teams and assist with patent-related activities.
• Maintain work areas, equipment and inventory in a clean, organized manner.

GenScript is looking for a highly motivated and scientifically rigorous Nanoparticle Formulation Scientist to join our RNA team. This position will focus on developing novel lipid nanoparticle formulations for RNA delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new lipid nanoparticle formulations (lipid or other polymers) platform for mRNA, DNA, RNA, peptide delivery, to achieve targeted delivery for different disease needs, like neuronal, brain, muscle, bone marrow cell, etc.
• Develop method for characterizing and evaluating physical characteristics for antibody decorated LNPs.
• Process development for high throughput LNP preparation and downstream process to improve production efficiency.
• Produce formulations for related RNA projects, supporting functional assays for in vitro evaluation.
• Maintain relationships with customers, participate in scientific meetings or customer meetings.
• Write study protocols, technical reports, and SOPs to support mRNA product development projects.
• Interact with IP counsel to assist with patent prosecution.
• Monitors supply inventory and identifies any products required.
• Maintains work area, equipment, department and all storage areas in a clean, neat and orderly manner.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements:

• Master or PhD's degree in pharmaceutical science, chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or related field, Master is preferred
• Strong knowledge of lipid and polymeric nanoparticle delivery technologies
• >4 years of relevant experience in nucleic acid delivery with hands-on experience in lipid nanoparticle formulation and characterization
• Extensive experience with production and analytical characterization of nanoparticles
• Proficiency in all molecular biology techniques for mRNA and protein expression (RT-PCR, ELISA, Western blot, Flow-cytometry, etc) and RNA-related analytics (ribogreen, gel electrophoresis, capillary electrophoresis, etc).
• Works collaboratively with team members to support each other
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Compensation:

Salary range: $90,000 – $110,000 total compensation, including bonus, depending on experience and qualifications.
