Job summary

Lubrizol Corporation is seeking a Formulation Scientist in Brecksville, OH (to transition to Wickliffe, OH) to drive CPVC formulation development from concept through commercialization.

You will apply chemistry, materials science, DOE, and data analytics to deliver high‑impact products for critical infrastructure and consumer applications. Strong collaboration and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry/Materials Science or related field with 5+ years industry experience, or MS/PhD with 3+ years.
• Strong knowledge of polymer science, formulation development, and structure–property relationships.
• Experience designing and executing experiments using DOE and statistical methods; capable of solving complex data problems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize CPVC formulations for new product development and enhancements.
• Apply DOE and statistics to understand formulation–performance relationships and drive innovation.
• Generate, analyze, visualize, and interpret technical data to support product development and business decisions.
• Lead laboratory formulation activities using advanced processing, analytical, and material characterization techniques.
• Develop and improve digital workflows for capturing and leveraging experimental data across projects.
• Utilize predictive modeling and machine learning to support material development and problem solving.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, technical service, and commercial teams to scale products from concept to commercialization.
• Ensure products meet regulatory requirements, certification standards, and performance objectives.
• Present technical findings to leadership and customers; mentor colleagues to share expertise.
