Job summary

Saint Isaac Jogues Church in Northeast Baltimore County seeks a Coordinator of Formation Ministries to lead faith formation for children, youth, and adults, and to oversee sacramental preparation and youth ministry. The role requires planning, organizing, and evaluating parish programs while ensuring Safe Environment compliance.

The candidate will work with the Pastor to schedule catechetical instruction, coordinate liturgies, and recruit volunteers.

Qualifications

• Practicing Catholic fully able to participate in sacramental life.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Pastoral Ministry, or related field.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to direct, form, and manage volunteers.
• Support the mission of the Catholic Church within the scope of job duties.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate catechetical instruction and faith formation for children, youth, and adults.
• Organize registration and re-registration of all students.
• Ensure Safe Environment requirements (Virtus) and Archdiocesan standards for volunteers.
• Prepare and manage a budget for Faith Formation in collaboration with Parish Manager.
• Schedule and oversee Baptism Preparation, First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation catechesis.
• Coordinate liturgies for First Reconciliation and First Communion and arrange receptions for families.
• Maintain involvement in professional associations related to religious education.
• Plan youth ministry activities and retreats, and provide opportunities for youth to participate in Outreach and Parish Ministries.
• Assist the pastor in preparing liturgical celebrations focused on youth.
