Job summary

Nativity in Florida seeks a Religious Education Coordinator & Youth Minister to lead parish faith formation for Pre-K through Youth, including sacramental preparation for children. The role supports catechists, volunteers, and program delivery in alignment with diocesan standards.

The coordinator collaborates with the Pastor and parish staff to maintain records, implement curriculum, and monitor budgets, while ensuring Safe Environment compliance and diocesan policy adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Catechetics, Religious Studies, Pastoral Ministry, or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of parish ministry or related field.
• Must have or be in the process of obtaining diocesan catechetical certification.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and administers parish religious education programs, including sacramental preparation for children (First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion).
• Recruits, trains, and supports catechists and volunteers, ensuring compliance with diocesan certification and Safe Environment requirements.
• Implements curriculum and selects materials approved by the Diocese.
• Coordinates class schedules, sacramental preparation timelines, and related program activities.
• Maintains accurate program and sacramental records.
• Assists in the preparation and monitoring of the program budget.
• Evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations to the Pastor or Parish Catechetical Leader.
• Ensures compliance with all diocesan policies related to faith formation programs.
• Collaborates with parish staff to support overall formation efforts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
