Job summary

This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.

Job Summary

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating powered industrial trucks, including stand-up and/or sit-down forklifts, to move, store, load, and unload materials throughout the facility. This position supports production and warehouse operations by accurately tracking inventory, completing transactions using RF scanners and tablets, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate stand-up and/or sit-down forklifts to transport materials and finished goods.
• Load, unload, move, stack, and stage products in designated locations.
• Utilize RF scanners and tablets to perform inventory transactions and maintain accurate records.
• Verify product quantities, locations, and inventory accuracy.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Proficiency in reading and writing; ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels.
• Follow all safety, quality, food safety, and company policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Sanitize equipment as required.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and flexible schedules as required by business needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

• Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs
• The Team Member will stand, walk, bend, squat, stretch, climb, push, pull and reach as required in all areas
• The Team Member will stand 8-10 hours on hard floors
• The Team Member will perform repetitive motions as required in many areas
• The Team Member will work in a cold, damp environment
• The Team Member will work in a cold, damp environment with temperatures of – 25 degrees Fahrenheit (Order Selector)
• The Team Member will work on slippery walking surfaces

Internal Requirements At Time Of Application

• Team Members must be in current position for 90 days
• Team Members must have no suspensions or more than 3 written warnings within the past year
• Team Members with four (4) or more attendance points at the time of application will be disqualified from consideration
• Self-disqualification: A Team Member who withdraws their application or declines a position one (1) time will be restricted applying to any additional positions for six (6) months
