Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. in Goodlettsville, TN is seeking a Machine Operator for the Goodlettsville Case Ready Plant. You will operate and monitor Pacific packaging machinery to support safe, efficient, and high-quality production.

The role requires standing in a refrigerated environment, following safety procedures, performing start-up checks and quality checks, and coordinating with production staff. Shift is Monday–Friday, 3:30pm–11:30pm, pay $22.10 per hour; probationary period applies.

• Internal requirements at time of application: 6 points or less with no suspensions in last 12 months; New hires must complete their initial 90-day probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor Pacific packaging machinery to support safe, efficient, and high-quality production operations.
• Perform machine startup procedures and verify gas and oxygen settings; load appropriate production programs.
• Gather and organize production supplies; clean rollers, jaws and other components per safety procedures.
• Monitor machine guides, film feed, sealing functions and timing to maintain quality; conduct burst testing and quality checks.
• Assist with product rework and packaging support; inspect trays for defects and remove non-conforming materials.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas; report equipment malfunctions and safety concerns promptly.

This position is responsible for operating and monitoring Pacific packaging machinery to support safe, efficient, and high-quality production operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform machine startup procedures, including verifying gas and oxygen settings and loading appropriate production programs.
• Gather and organize production supplies, including film and scavenger materials, for operational use.
• Clean rollers, jaws, and other machine components while following established safety procedures and using required protective equipment.
• Monitor and adjust machine guides to maintain proper alignment and product quality.
• Observe film feed, blade cutting, sealing functions, and machine timing to identify and address operational issues or jams.
• Conduct burst testing and other quality checks as required.
• Assist with product rework and general production support activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of scavenger and work areas throughout the shift.
• Support packaging operations by assisting packers with labels, box lines, and workflow needs.
• Inspect trays and production lines for defects and remove non-conforming materials prior to processing.
• Verify product dates and labeling accuracy to ensure compliance with production standards.
• Communicate equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or production issues to supervisors promptly.
• Follow all company safety policies, food safety standards, and operational procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment

• This position requires work in a refrigerated environment with temperatures ranging from 28°F to 45°F.
• The role involves working around moving machinery in a fast-paced production setting.
• Team members may be required to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
• Overtime, weekends, and flexible scheduling may be required based on operational needs.
