Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse/Materials Handler for the 2nd shift at our Houston facility. The role involves forklift operation, material staging, and ensuring readiness of inventory for the Ready to Eat line, while maintaining Tyson’s safety culture.

Responsibilities include verifying stock, staging materials, moving products, and using SAP for inventory transactions, with emphasis on safety and efficiency in a loud production environment.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification preferred or must become certified.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work 2nd shift and adapt to production schedules.

• Move product in and out of cooler system using scanner system.
• Return materials with the use of SAP and scan to proper storage location.
• Use forklift to move heavy inventory and maintain organized work area.
• Receives, stores, and ships product according to company and customer requirements.
• Check and load inbound/outbound customer orders.

This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.

Functions:

• To perform all work duties safely, as well as maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture.
• Receive training as required.
• Perform other duties/positions as required/assigned.

Tasks:

• Verify materials are in stock for Ready to Eat (RTE).
• Print material requirement paperwork and stage materials for the next scheduled production day.
• Complete a periodic check for production schedule changes and updates.
• Return unused inventory to the warehouse throughout the shift.
• Move product in and out of cooler system using scanner system.
• Return materials with the use of the SAP, and scan to proper storage location.
• Using forklift to move heavy inventory.
• Maintain a suitable and well-organized work area.
• Receives, stores, and ships product according to the Company and Costumer requirements.
• Received and Transfer product to and from outside sources.
• Check and load inbound/outbound customer orders.
• This individual should also have the ability to perform duties as instructed by the supervisor on batteries, lifts, and other vehicles.
• Forklift certified or must become certified.
• Other duties may be assigned by Supervisor

Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

• Must be willing and able to lift and or move up to 50 pounds
• The Team Member is frequently required to walk.
• The Team Member will be regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and extreme cold.
• The Team Member will work in an environment where the noise level is usually very loud.

Internal Requirements At Time Of Application:

• You must not exceed more than 4 attendance points.
• You must not have received a written warning within the last 3 months.
• TM’s who have won a bid will not be permitted to lateral bid for 6 months, TM can bid to a higher level job.
• Tm Will be under a 2-week qualification period if supervisor disqualifies TM, then TM will return back to previous position.
• TM has 2 weeks to notify HR from the date they physically start new position to disqualify themselves if so, they will return to previous position.
• TM understands if they do self-disqualify to not continue in the awarded position they will not be allowed to bid for 6 months.
• Probationary team members must have completed 90 days before they can be considered.
