Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is looking for a Forklift Operator to join our Des Plaines dock. You will sort, load, and unload freight, and operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move pallets safely while securing freight inside trailers.

We require 18+ years old, basic math ability, and availability for varied shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Night shift is Mon-Fri 5pm-10pm with benefits for those working 30+ hours per week.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Basic math ability, with or without calculator.
• Available for shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Preferred experience in dock/warehouse environments.
• Experience loading/unloading trailers and operating forklifts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently sort, handle, load and unload freight on the dock.
• Operate pallet jacks and forklifts to move pallets safely.
• Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate methods and equipment.
• Maintain safety policies and use handheld devices to scan/track shipments.
• Work on a dock that may be non climate-controlled for extended periods.
