Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Forklift Operator I in Indiana to move material between inventory, production, and storage areas. You will maintain paperwork and production records as required and provide material to production according to the schedule.

Responsibilities include moving materials, prepping and labeling finished goods, assisting with bottlenecks, and performing basic equipment maintenance while adhering to safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• No minimum experience is required however forklift driving experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Move material in process from one station to another if necessary.
• Band, wrap and/or pack finished goods, and label material.
• Move finished goods from production area to finished goods inventory yard or warehouse.
• Assist production with bottlenecks and other material needs.
• Provide general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Complete pre-shift startup equipment checklist and report any problems or concerns.
• Maintain rough material and finished goods inventory yard organized and clean.
• Complete production records as required.
• Follow forklift rules and policies as described by Company policy.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
